Two different tactical systems should lead to an interesting game when FC Edinburgh host Elgin City at Meadowbank Stadium this Saturday.
Edinburgh's system
Michael McIndoe has been in charge of FC Edinburgh since October 2023 and appears to have made his Edinburgh charges hard to play against and tough to beat by being compact when out of possession, patient in their build-up and dangerous when they overrun opponents out wide.
Elgin's system
Stefan Laird has been in command of Elgin City since May 2026 and while the squad has had time to adapt to his instructions, they are yet to deliver any results. The players like to play a more direct, aggressive and fast-paced game where they are alert to any turnover and can get on the attack quickly.
Elgin have hoodoo to break on their return to the capital
This should be a good matchup of control against chaos, but Edinburgh look the more likely winners here and the price on them is good enough to take, albeit Elgin have some hoodoo to dispel on Saturday.
