- Standings: FC Fredericia (4th) sit in the Superliga Relegation Group 2026 with 27 points from 25 matches, while Vejle Boldklub (6th) have 17 points from the same number of games.
- Recent form: Fredericia have won three and lost two of their last five matches, with their most impressive result being a 2-1 victory over FC Copenhagen away.
- Draws & streaks: Vejle Boldklub have drawn four and lost one of their last five, including three consecutive 1-1 draws.
Two of the group’s lowest scorers meet
FC Fredericia are slight favorites for Monday’s relegation battle with Vejle Boldklub at 2.4, but with the visitors priced at 2.7 and the draw at 3.55, it seems like a smart move to take the odds-on ‘Both teams to score - Yes’ market at 1.5.
Although these two teams are amongst the lowest scorers in the group, their recent scoring records and the defensive vulnerabilities that they expose when they do score suggest that both should be good for a goal each in Monday’s game.
- Friday Etim is Fredericia’s top scorer in the Relegation Group with one goal in three matches, while Sofus Johannesen has scored three of Fredericia’s last six goals.
- Anders K. Jacobsen tops the group for Vejle with one in one, while Mikkel Duelund has scored three in their last five.
Clash of tactical styles
Fredericia's approach
FC Fredericia’s 4-2-3-1 system is usually set up to be a patient, possession-based game where they control the rhythm, with their players disciplined to their positions, compact and ready to react to the ball, rather than each other.
Michael Hansen’s men are usually very well organised structurally, and although they are not prolific goalscorers, they have managed to find big results since he took over in August 2020, such as a 2-1 away victory over FC Copenhagen.
Vejle's approach
Claus Nørgaard took over as Vejle’s head coach in January 2026, bringing with him a system of play that utilises a back three, and allows the wing backs to push the game forward.
Nørgaard’s team play with a high tempo, looking to win the ball back early in the transition and overload the flanks. Vejle’s recent games have been tightly contested, with three consecutive 1-1 draws, and they have been hard to break through as Nørgaard’s system has given them a tactical edge and structure.
A close encounter for the local rivalry
With Fredericia with three wins in five and Vejle winless in five, the home team are rightly the slight favourites to claim a win in Monday’s encounter. Fredericia have only won one of the last five head-to-head matchups in all competitions, however, while Vejle are unbeaten in their last trip to Fredericia.
Fredericia have split their last two home games, winning once and losing once, and Vejle have drawn their last two away games without defeat. There is little to split these two in the recent form charts, but Fredericia have shown better results over the same period, and with home advantage, they should be able to edge a close and tactical game.
As a wager on both teams to score is already in play, we will side with the home side to keep their run going with a 2-1 win. Fredericia will do everything they can to control the game, and Vejle’s direct, attacking style should bring plenty of counter-attacking opportunities, where Christian Gammelgaard will be their creative outlet, as he has assisted three of their last seven goals.
