Stalemate in Graz?
GAK setup and key men
Grazer AK 1902 have had a tough time in Bundesliga 2025-2026, but have shown enough to suggest they are still a force in the division under coach Ferdinand Feldhofer’s pragmatic leadership.
A conservative shape that is either a low or medium defensive block, counter-attacking and transitioning rapidly from a structured, disciplined defense, GAK have been an organized and tough opponent for their rivals to break down this season.
Grazer’s best players have been those who can carry out Feldhofer’s tactical plan with maximum effect - midfielders Jacob Italiano and Tobias Koch have been excellent at orchestrating quick transitions and providing through-balls, while forward Daniel Maderner has been among the team's top scorers this season.
Striker Ramiz Harakate has been in great form of late, netting a brace against WAC and a game winner against SV Ried.
GAK need to keep picking up points in these types of games if they are to pull clear of the relegation battle.
WAC's approach
Wolfsberger Athletik Club’s coach Ismail Atalan is also a pragmatic and tactical expert, but his teams tend to play in a more expansive, attack-minded way, pressing opponents and playing through the wings.
A quick tempo is their forte and they rely on striker Markus Pink to provide the finishing touch to their attacks - he is WAC’s top scorer this term by some distance.
- Jacob Italiano
- Tobias Koch
- Daniel Maderner

- David Atanga
- Erik Kojzek
WAC have a bit more of everything
WAC are a better side than Grazer on paper and they have more all-round depth to call upon, which may make the difference in this close matchup.
WAC have 26 points in the Bundesliga table, six more than GAK, and there is a six-point gap in the table between these clubs as we approach the final stretch of the regular season.
With so much at stake for each side - GAK need to get clear of the drop zone, WAC need to secure their mid-table safety and push up the table, it could be a very close matchup in Graz on Saturday.
Atalan’s men have the extra quality and depth to edge out the home side and we’re betting on an away win at generous odds of 2.62.
Both teams can score on the day, however, as GAK will have enough to penetrate a WAC backline that is not as cohesive as it should be, and the home team is good at set pieces.
David Atanga and Erik Kojzek have both scored recently for WAC and can give them some additional firepower in midfield this Saturday.
