Lincoln have a foot in the second round
Lincoln Red Imps can take a big step towards the next round of UEFA Champions League Qualification 2026 with a positive result at Estadi Nacional d'Andorra on Tuesday. The Gibraltarians have a 3-1 advantage after beating Inter Club d'Escaldes in last week's first-leg of their first competitive clash.
The Andorran champions are still favorites to go through at 1.72, but the visitors are a very attractive bet at 4.01 to at least avoid defeat and the tie appears even in the draw market at 3.92. Juanma Pavón took charge of Lincoln on 1 July 2026 and has them very well drilled already in a compact 4-4-2 style block that is well suited to the tactics he will no doubt employ on Tuesday.
Pavón will set his team up to sit back and try to hit on the break or from set pieces where he feels they can catch Inter off guard. Facundo Alvarez is their outstanding player and has looked sharp in the final third.
Over 2.5 goals the best play
Tactics
Felip Ortiz has been in charge of Inter since 7 June 2024 and will have learned some lessons from the first-leg defeat. His team usually play a 4-3-3, but with a possession-first, flank-heavy approach that is more suited to league football where the players are used to playing through opponents' blocks.
Ortiz appears to have made his European team more pragmatic, but there will still be a push to get his wide forwards and midfield runners into the wide areas where Inter will look to overload Lincoln. However, the visitors should hold the central lanes well and look to pounce in transition when the Andorran's push forward.
Betting
- Backing over 2.5 goals in the match at 1.73 looks the best way to get a return from this game and both teams to score is also in play at 1.65.
- But Lincoln are in control of this matchup and with Inter winning only three and losing two of their last five in all competitions, the bet that best suits the circumstances is Over 2.5 match goals, just as it was in the first-leg when the Gibraltarians won 3-1.
Visitors in control
Both sides have home and away records in all current competitions, but Lincoln have the edge in this two-legged series and arrive on the back of a two-game winning streak, having beaten Mons Calpe SC 3-0 at home in National League 2025/2026 last time out and the 3-1 success against Inter.
Inter are on a two-game losing streak after a 2-1 home defeat to CE Carroi in Primera Divisió 2025/2026 and the aforementioned 3-1 loss to Lincoln. Inter have won three and lost one of their four home games across all competitions this season, scoring nine goals in their last four at Estadi Nacional d'Andorra.
Lincoln have won two, drawn one and lost once away from home in all competitions, scoring 3.25 goals per game and conceding 1.25 on average.
