- Team form: Inverness Caledonian Thistle have won seven of their last ten matches in all competitions and are on a five-game winning streak.
- Away form: Dunfermline have won four of their last ten in all competitions but have only taken four points in five away trips across all comps (W1, D1, L3).
- Attacking stats: Neil Lennon's side average just 0.60 goals per game on the road across all games.
Tight game anticipated at Caledonian Stadium
Form and context
Two teams on a roll face off at the Caledonian Stadium on Saturday when Championship 2026-2027 hopefuls Inverness Caledonian Thistle play host to an in-form Dunfermline side who have been tough to beat since Neil Lennon took over as manager in March 2025. The Pars boss has certainly instilled a results-first mindset into the club and set up his side to be dangerous in transition, but the head-to-head suggests that Saturday's game is likely to be a tight affair.
Dunfermline's last two results – a 5-0 home win over Cove Rangers and a 1-0 away win at St Mirren in League Cup Group C 2026 – have been very good, but the Pars have not convinced enough on the road this term and should be opposed for the win.
Management and tactics
Inverness boss Scott Kellacher has been at the helm since October 2024 and has had the Thistle well organised ever since, set up to protect the transition from defence to attack and capable of hurting teams on the counter-attack or through wide combinations. They are a flexible team that will play in either 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 shapes and usually look for control, but they know how to play with sharp vertical bursts when space appears.
Odds-against Inverness the best play
And although ICT have won their last five straight, we are going to lean towards under 2.5 goals at 1.71 for our main selection as it just seems like a game that will be tense.
Inverness have played better football than Dunfermline and are on a better run, but the away side are just a little too good on the ball for ICT's rigid structure and could snag a goal at some stage. They can edge this one and perhaps that's why they are just a shade more likely to win it, even if the head-to-head and both teams' structures suggest this could be very close deep into the second half.
- The odds of 2.51 about Inverness and Dunfermline are too low for both teams and the draw at 3.2 is also a non-starter, so we have to look elsewhere for the value in this game.
- The BTTS line is tempting at 1.78 as neither side are exactly prolific, but Dunfermline could have the game plan and players to win it.
- ICT are perfect in four attempts at home across all-competitions (W4, D0) so the Caledonian Stadium has become a fortress and Andy Tod has been a livewire for Dunfermline of late, netting four goals in five games to take his season tally to 11.
