- Team form: North Carolina Courage (W) have won their last three games in all competitions.
- Recent form: Seattle Reign FC (W) have won one, drawn one and lost three of their last five.
- Head-to-head: The H2H record is even at 1.0 goals scored and 1.0 goals conceded per-game when Courage host Reign.
Courage come out swinging
North Carolina have not been the greatest team in the NWSL 2026 so far, sitting 7th in the table with 18 points from 11 games, but their form is on a roll after three consecutive wins across all competitions. The most recent of those victories saw Courage thrash Chicago Stars 4-0 at home, while their two prior wins both came on the road and saw them emerge as 2-1 winners over Racing Louisville and Angel City.
The Courage have been fast and furious in all three of those recent victories, which was a stark contrast to the previous season under the old boss.
Reign are still a possession side
Courage attacking form
Manaka Matsukubo has been in great form in the final third for North Carolina, scoring three of the team's nine goals in the last five games, with Courage scoring nine total goals in that time. Mak Lind has sharpened up Courage's vertical play since taking over, with the new boss playing on the transition and forcing the chaos with an aggressive counter-press.
Reign tactical profile
Seattle are still very much a Laura Harvey possession-first side, with the Reign being a team built on structure, buildup, midfield control and wide overloads. Reign have won just two of their five road games in the NWSL 2026, losing twice, but they have at least kept things relatively tight.
Head-to-head is even
Seattle have a 2-1 victory over Courage from their one and only clash in the NWSL 2025, while Seattle have won the last two meetings between the sides. The head-to-head record is one of the reasons that the Reign are the slight underdogs in the bookies' odds this weekend, with the hosts listed at 1.77 favorites, ahead of the draw at 3.5 and the visitors at 4.14.
It's a tough matchup to call with an even head-to-head and contrasting playing styles, with the Courage looking to attack at pace while Reign will try to slow the game down and take the ball back.
Courage are the likely winners
The form of the two sides is enough to take Courage as the most likely winner on Saturday, but Seattle's unbeaten by chaos pedigree in this fixture should at least see them keep it close.
- Under 2.5 goals is the safe bet at 1.79, but the recent form of the hosts also makes the Over 2.5 line at 1.92 look attractive.
