Les Parisiens lack cutting edge
Paris FC host OGC Nice in the French capital on Sunday in a classic clash of styles and the team that best executes their game plan will most likely win. Paris FC are the possession-based outfit who will want the ball while Nice will be happy to sit back and counter.
Liam Rosenior has his men playing with the ball and can switch up their shape to create problems for the opposition and press high up the field to try and force turnovers. They do not concede many, but they can be a bit toothless in the final third and lack a real finisher. Luca Koleosho has been their sharpest man of late, netting two of Paris FC's two goals in their last five games, while Sofiane Diop has been the most reliable finisher for Nice, scoring two of their six goals over the same period.
Draw looks likely at Stade Jean Bouin
Standings and form
Paris FC are tenth in Ligue 1 2026-2027 with one point from one game and Nice are ninth with one from one.
- Les Parisiens have gone five games without a win in all competitions – three draws and two defeats – after a 3-2 friendly defeat to Angers SCO and a 0-0 away draw against ES Troyes AC.
- Nice are unbeaten in four of their last five, but they have just as many draws in that sequence with their three most recent games – 0-0 at Cagliari, 0-0 at Hull City and 0-0 at home to FC Lorient in Ligue 1 2026/2027 – all having ended all square.
- A home edge might be expected, but Paris FC have failed to make a fortress out of Stade Jean Bouin as their only home game in their recent run ended all tied up and the hosts will have some confidence in not losing against a team that has failed to beat them in their last two meetings.
Tactics and home advantage
Olivier Pantaloni has got them set up as a compact, disciplined unit that can keep the opposition at bay while looking to counter-attack.
Backing the draw could be the smart move
Given the lack of goals in the games featuring these two sides lately, under 2.5 goals at 1.9 seems to fit the script best as the clash is more likely to be a chess game than a shootout. But Nice can be as stubborn as any club in France when they need to be and that makes the draw look the best bet in the match result market.
Paris FC are 2.1 favourites to win, but that is hard to understand when Nice are 3.35 and the stalemate is 3.4. The odds on the home team are slightly overvalued and the visitors are a little underpriced, but the tie is the most likely outcome and the only bet that looks safe enough to take.
