- Odds: PSG are the clear favorites at 1.39, with Rennes 6.8 and the draw 4.85.
- Home form: PSG are unbeaten in 3 at home in all competitions (W1, D2).
- Home defence: PSG have conceded just 3 goals in 3 home matches across all competitions.
Les Parisiens and Les Rouge et Noir are set to face off at Parc des Princes
PSG:
Paris Saint-Germain FC (PSG) will face Stade Rennes FC at Parc des Princes on Sunday in a Ligue 1 2026-2027 matchup that will test the hosts' strength in depth and the visitors' ability to adapt.
Luis Enrique has been PSG's manager since July 2023 and he has established a possession-based, positional 4-3-3 system that allows Les Parisiens to control the tempo and quality of most games. However, the past 5 matches have been mixed results with a 1-1 draw at home to Manchester United, a 2-1 win over Aston Villa and a 1-0 loss to RC Lens, which will be tough to accept.
Rennes:
Franck Haise took over at Rennes in February 2026 and has established a dynamic, high-pressing system with fast vertical ball movement and aggressive counter-pressing. Rennes have won 4, drawn 1 and lost 5 of their 10 matches across all competitions during this period, so it hasn't been a bad run of form, but the back-to-back losses to Brentford (4-2, H) and Sunderland (2-1, A) have stopped their momentum ahead of this encounter.
PSG can take the victory and there could be a few goals
The home side's odds of 1.39 is a little short for our taste and we'll take Rennes at 6.8, although it is clear that Les Rouge et Noir will face a difficult test in Paris. The draw at 4.85 looks tempting, but we think PSG can edge out the victory in a game that could open up.
PSG's system should suit the wide areas where they will try to stretch Rennes and catch them in transition, whilst Rennes will want to get the ball back quickly and attack fast in transition.
- The last five head-to-heads favour PSG 4-1 (L1 2025/2026 – Rennes 3-1 at home), but that match was won by Rennes, so there's an extra edge of revenge for PSG to take into this game.
- PSG are still unbeaten at this ground in 3 matches (W1, D2) and Rennes have not won any of their last 3 away head-to-heads.
- Rennes have hit 7 goals in 4 away matches in all competitions, so we believe they can nick chances, but PSG have only conceded 3 goals in 3 at home (W1, D2), so there should be a home win and over 2.5 goals at 1.4 is attractive if it opens up.
- Esteban Lepaul has been Rennes' main man, getting 6 of their 11 goals across the last 5 matches and taking most of the attacking burden.
