Sociedad too good for Levante in the long run
Real Sociedad arrive off the back of a 5-2 away win over Malaga CF in the LaLiga 2026/2027 while Levante come into this on the back of a pair of draws after a 3-3 home thriller against Sevilla followed up by a 1-1 away draw against Deportivo de La Coruna.
Tactical battle
Pellegrino Matarazzo has Real Sociedad playing possession-heavy football with structure and tempo, organised pressing from midfield and lots of movement to create space for the likes of Luka Sucic, who's scored three LaLiga 2026/2027 goals in seven appearances and provides the hosts with a reliable spark between the lines. Luis Castro has set Levante up in a compact mid-block, which will be the visitors' best chance of stopping Sociedad, but it will be up to the players to stick to their structure, keep the lanes narrow and hit their direct attacks in the right areas.
It's a clash of possession football versus a survival mentality and this game could be much tighter than the odds suggest, given Real Sociedad are 1.71 favourites, Levante 4.35 and the draw 3.9. Real Sociedad are 5th in the table with 16 points from nine games while Levante are 17th with seven from eight, but there is much more quality in Sociedad's squad and they should ultimately edge out Levante here.
Why this is tricky
There may be a few other reasons why this is a tricky game. Levante are a stubborn team and it could be a long afternoon at Reale Arena for Sociedad.
Granotes have scored seven goals in their last five games, with Roger Brugue their top scorer with three in five appearances. Ivan Romero has three of those seven goals and it's possible the visitors find a way to get on the scoresheet in this one.
Betting
It's still worth having a flutter on Real Sociedad to come out on top, however, because they're in better form and Levante are still seeking a first away win of the campaign.
But another angle to this is Both Teams to Score – No at 2.3, which seems more likely in a game where the hosts have to grind out possession and control, but also have the attacking quality to win the game.
