- Recent form: Temperley has won two, drawn one, and lost two of their last five games, but enter this game on the back of consecutive wins.
- Away form: Guemes has won three and lost two of their last five, but both away trips have ended in defeat.
Clash of styles as two new managers look to make their mark
The clash of two new managerial regimes should make for an exciting and closely contested game when Temperley host Club Atletico Guemes on Sunday.
Temperley tactics
Nicolas Domingo, who took over Temperley in late May, has immediately set about making his mark on the squad with a 4-4-2 system that is much more assertive and attacking than they had previously been. Domingo's men play with two strikers and rely on wide players to get the ball forward quickly while the midfielders work hard to win second balls.
Guemes approach
Club Atletico Guemes' pressing style, under Pablo Guiñazú since late May, is another story. The 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 system that the ex-Argentine international has implemented, focuses on the team pressing collectively, midfield structure and transitions from defense to attack. Guemes have improved as a team since Guiñazú's appointment and the collective pressing and structure in midfield has improved.
Temperley recent form
Temperley enters this game on the back of two consecutive wins, a 2-1 victory at home over San Martin San Juan and a tough 1-0 away win at Chacarita Juniors that has put some momentum behind Domingo's side.
Back the home team to take the spoils
Temperley has been inconsistent this season, sitting 13th in Primera Nacional 2026 with 23 points from 16 matches, while Guemes is 23rd with 19 from the same number of games. However, Domingo's team is in form and has a much better home record than Guemes away, which is why the 1.82 for a Temperley win seems very low for the favorites.
Guemes have averaged one goal per game away from home, which is why both teams to score, priced at 2.32, and over 2.5 goals, at 2.62, look very tempting.
- A home record of three wins, two draws and a loss for Temperley this term is superior to Guemes's away record of one win, two draws and four losses.
- Both of Guemes's defeats in the last two months have come away from home (2-0 to Almagro) while Temperley's home split in their last two is one win and one loss.
- Both teams have been conceding plenty of goals, 10 in six at home for Temperley (1.67 per game) and 13 in seven away for Guemes (1.86), but both score plenty too.
Soto to outscore Guemes’s forwards
Pedro Souto is the danger man for the hosts with three goals in his last five league games. Temperley will need to rely on his clinical finishing to score on Sunday as he has scored three goals this season.
Guemes will turn to Juan Sotelo, who has five goals in 11 Primera Nacional 2026 appearances and will provide a constant threat to the Temperley back line on Sunday.
Expect a tense and open game with plenty of end-to-end action as two differing styles of play face off, which makes it difficult to predict with great confidence, although the home advantage and form of the hosts should see them across the line.
