Vancouver are the better of the two sides overall but they haven't quite hit the heights in 2026, so there is a case to be made for the draw at the current odds. The hosts have lost only one of their 8 home matches, but they have won seven of those so their form could be a little better.
Jesper Soerensen has Vancouver playing a 'control the game' style of football since January 2025 and he has the players to do it. They like to be on the ball and overload the midfield to create, but they are also a tough nut to crack with a counter-press that can stifle opponents when they win the second balls.
Vancouver could have the edge
Brian White is the key man for the Whitecaps in MLS 2026, having scored 10 goals in 15 appearances in the league, and he could give them that little extra edge that is needed to win a close game.

This will be a battle in midfield and whichever team wins the midfield duel will control the rhythm of the game. Vancouver's counter-press can smother LAFC's build-up play if they win the second balls, so I think the visitors have a decent chance of getting on the scoresheet.
There should be plenty of chances at both ends and while Vancouver probably have that extra bit of quality that should see them sneak this one, backing both teams to score at 1.55 looks a good option in this spot, while Over 2.5 at 1.53 is a bit of a steal for an end-to-end game.
