Bantams have bite, Boro are in a streak
Form and standings
Bradford City are the slight favorites for Saturday's clash at The University of Bradford Stadium but Stevenage Borough are the real in-form team.
The Bantams have been excellent in League One 2026-2027 to sit 2nd in the table with 17 points from nine games, while the Boro have 12 points from eight games in 9th and are within striking distance of the top pack.
Manager and odds
Michael Duff took over on 7 October 2026 and has certainly got his side right quickly, so it's no surprise that Bradford are 1.9 to beat 4.0 underdogs Stevenage.
Bradford play a high-tempo 3-4-2-1 which will press the opposition high up the pitch in order to win the ball and then hit them quickly on the break, while Alex Revell's Stevenage have been more patient, more physical and compact, using the wing-backs in their 3-5-2 to do the damage, or getting lucky in the air from set-pieces.
The head-to-head record is too tight to call but Bradford's home advantage and their superior position in the league suggests they are more likely to come out on top, although Stevenage's streak can't be ignored either.
So we're going to back the under 2.5 goals option at 1.65 which fits the shape of this clash of two teams with very different ideas.
Bobby Pointon is Bradford's top scorer in League One 2026/2027 with two goals in seven games, so the home side are not exactly prolific. However, they have scored eight times in their last five and Nick Powell has bagged three of those.
Dan Kemp has three goals in League One 2026/2027 for the visitors but has a nice touch in the final third and could be the most dangerous player on the pitch.
- The Bantams have 3 wins and 2 draws in their last five games, with a 1-1 draw at Reading in League One 2026/2027, a 4-0 win at Rotherham in the EFL Trophy 2026/2027 and a 0-0 home draw with Leyton Orient in League One 2026/2027 being their most recent results.
- Stevenage have won four of their last five and arrive on the back of three consecutive victories, so they should be in a good place to take the game to Bradford.
- The Boro have been the far more exciting team of late, winning 6-1 at Walsall in the EFL Trophy 2026/2027, beating Leicester City 2-1 at home in the same competition before edging past Wigan Athletic 1-0 at home in League One 2026/2027.
