- Team form: FC Cincinnati have failed to beat Orlando City SC in their last three attempts on home soil.
- Recent form: FC Cincinnati have won two, drawn two and lost one of their last five MLS 2026 games.
- Away form: Orlando City SC have won one, drawn one and lost five of their seven MLS 2026 away games.
Cincinnati can cause City trouble
Orlando City SC should provide a stern test for FC Cincinnati when the two teams meet in Cincinnati on Saturday. The Orange and Blue are sitting 27th in the MLS 2026 standings with 10 points from 12 games, while Cincinnati are 15th with 16 points from the same number of games.
And while the 27th-placed visitors are the more consistent side of late with three wins, one draw and one defeat in their last five, they have been dreadful on the road with just one win, one draw and five defeats from seven attempts this term.
Ojeda will get chances in an open game
Form and recent results
A run of two wins and one loss in their last three away games, however, shows they can get a result in Cincinnati. Orlando’s last two results have been a 4-3 home win over Philadelphia Union and 1-1 home draw with Atlanta United, so they have no shortage of goals in them.
Tactical shifts
Interim coach Martin Perelman has added a spark to Orlando’s play since taking over by switching from a 4-2-3-1 that relied on high pressing to a more positive and flexible approach. FC Cincinnati coach Pat Noonan, in charge since December 2021, has built a team that likes to play with the ball, using their wing-backs to create wide overloads and fast transitions. This fixture is a potential tactical test for Orlando’s new direction, but a home victory would also prove a point for Cincinnati.
Expect a goal fest with plenty of chances
A 2-2 draw at Charlotte, a 3-5 defeat at home to Inter Miami and a 3-3 draw at San Diego FC have been the last three results for Cincinnati. They have won three, drawn one and lost only once at home this term, averaging 2.20 goals a game.
The odds favor the hosts to win at 1.63, but we’re going to lean to the ‘Over’ for this one on the basis that there will be goals at both ends of the field. Over 2.5 goals at 1.26 and Both Teams to Score - Yes at 1.35 is our pick here.
Orlando’s average of 3.57 goals conceded on their travels is enough to suggest Cincinnati can exploit their defensive frailties, but the visitors have enough of a talisman in Martin Ojeda to get a couple of away goals.
- Cincinnati’s in-form attacker Evander Ferreira has bagged four of their goals in the last seven games, and has been their best player in recent weeks.
- Kevin Denkey is their most dangerous striker with seven in 11 MLS 2026 appearances and will always be a threat up front.
- These teams have each won two and drawn once of their five previous MLS 2026 head-to-heads with the most recent meeting ending 1-1 in Cincinnati in December.
