Tigrene target their third straight draw
Nordsjaelland
FC Nordsjaelland are the bookies' choice for Thursday's UEFA Conference League - League phase game against PFC CSKA Sofia but the visitors have every chance of springing a surprise at Right To Dream Park. The bookmakers have Nordsjaelland listed at 1.55 with CSKA at 5.5 and the draw 4.55, but we feel these two clubs are pretty evenly matched.
Jens Foensskov Olsen has been in charge of the Danish side since June 2024 and has moulded a young, athletic and hungry team around his energetic 4-3-3 system. They play a fluid, front-foot game with their full-backs high up and wide, and an early pressing game which can force opponents into mistakes.
CSKA Sofia
The Army Men (also known as The Reds) are set up a little differently to Nordsjaelland, who prefer a more fluid and free-flowing system. They tend to line up in a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 system which is a bit more regimented and relies more on discipline, a strong central spine and quick transitions. Markus Gisdol has been at the helm since September 2026 and has introduced a more compact style that should be better at resisting the Nordsjaelland press.
CSKA look good for points in Denmark
With Nordsjaelland favoured to win at such a short price, and CSKA bringing some good away form to the party, this looks a close call. However, we are going for the visitors as they appear to have that little bit extra at the moment and can nick the result.
They are not a ruthless team and could regret that in Thursday's game if they do not get ahead of CSKA. They have won 5, drew 2 and lost 3 of their 10 in all competitions this season, so a little better than Nordsjaelland's 4-3-3.
Alexander Lind is Nordsjaelland's main threat, with 2 goals in their last 5 and more of their total shots and key passes than any other player. Over 2.5 goals and both teams to score – yes are available at 1.62 and 1.72 respectively and should have some value.
- FC Nordsjaelland come into this game on the back of two straight draws, which followed a 3-0 defeat at Malmo.
- They drew 0-0 at home to OB Odense and then 1-1 away at Hearts, but generally, the games are there for Nordsjaelland.
- PFC CSKA Sofia have been much sharper in recent weeks, drawing 1-1 away to Lokomotiv Plovdiv, beating CSKA 1948 3-2 away and losing 2-1 to Monaco.
