- Head-to-head: FC Ufa won two and tied one of their last three meetings with Rotor Volgograd (Ufa 2W, 1D).
- Previous trips: Rotor Volgograd failed to win any of their previous two visits to Ufa.
FNL table suggests Rotor are the best value to win
Table and form
The FNL 2025/2026 table tells us that Rotor Volgograd should get the three points from Sunday’s visit to FC Ufa as the 4th-placed team with 53 points from 32 games will have too much quality for their 15th-placed hosts that have managed just 31 points from 31 outings.
Rotor have gone on a five-game unbeaten run (W3, D2) to move back into promotion contention and have drawn their two most recent games, while Ufa come into this one on the back of consecutive defeats and have won just once in their last five (W1, D2, L2).
Managers and tactics
Omari Tetradze took over Ufa in January 2025 and has made the team into one of the most aggressive in the Russian second tier, as they press high up the field and look to turn opponents over quickly.
Rotor have been more structured under Valery Burlachenko, who took over in November 2025, and are more structured in their build-up play, looking to keep the ball and get their number 10 involved.
This clash of styles could be a classic ‘press versus possession’ match-up and we’re expecting it to be tight with a good chance that only one team scores, so the both teams to score - no bet seems like a winner.
However, Volgograd’s recent form and the extra defensive solidity that Burlachenko has brought to the team since his appointment, makes them favourites to steal the points in what is likely to be a low-scoring affair.
- There are certainly goals in both sides and Dilan Ortiz, with seven goals in 24 FNL games in 2025/26, is Ufa’s main man to score for, while Said Aliev, with 13 in 32, is Rotor’s danger man.
- The odds on Volgograd are long enough to take a small bet on the visitors to extend their unbeaten run and we believe the 2.27 on offer is very attractive given the low goal average of both sides this season.
