- Team form: FK AS Trencin have won six of their last ten matches across all competitions
- Head-to-head: Komarno have won 2 of the last 3 meetings between the sides, including a 2-1 away win in the Super Liga Relegation Group 2026.
Back a battle of styles at Stadion Sihot
This game sees two fairly different sides come head to head on Saturday, with Ricardo Moniz's Trencin much more attacking and possession-based in nature than Kornel Salata's more pragmatic Komarno. The hosts are the clear favourite at 2.56, with the visitors' odds of 2.61 slightly bigger, but the odds on a draw are reasonable at 3.28, which could make this a solid parlay.
Trencin have been in much the better overall form of late, winning six of their last ten games across all competitions. However, they do come into this game having won two and lost three in that time and a 3-0 home win over rock-bottom FC Kosice a couple of weeks ago has been cancelled out by a 4-3 away loss to MFK Ruzomberok and a 1-2 defeat at home to the very team they play on Saturday.
Komarno have been much more up and down, with three wins, one draw and six defeats across their last ten across all competitions. However, they do arrive at the Stadion Sihot in better nick than Trencin, having won three of their last five games and are on a two-game winning streak, having beaten Tatran Presov 1-0 and MFK Zvolen 3-0 in their previous two matches.
Komarno will have a go but Trencin tend to bite
Tactical setup
Moniz is playing Trencin in a much more proactive style of football than Komarno, with his players controlling the central midfield zones, the width from the full-backs and a clear plan to overload the opposition when in possession. Salata will set his men up in a deep block, looking to hit quickly on the counter when they win the ball back and they'll be very dangerous from set pieces.
Match outlook
The result is a game which looks likely to be a bit of a chess match with Komarno looking to soak up pressure and hit on the break while Trencin will want to win the territory and use their numerical superiority to create overloading situations. The odds for over 2.5 goals at 1.83 make plenty of sense given the different playing styles and both teams to score at 1.64 looks just as good.
Hosts have the edge, but Komarno are in form
Trencin have won four of their five home games across all competitions this season, averaging 2.00 goals scored to 0.80 conceded, which is why they are the favorites.
Komarno have won one of their previous five away games, averaging 1.00 scored and 1.40 conceded, so the road has been a bit of a grind.
- However, Komarno have won two of the previous three head-to-heads and beat Trencin 2-1 in the most recent Super Liga matchup away in the Relegation Group 2026, so they won't be scared of the home fans.
- Cody David has been Trencin's danger man with six goals in the previous five, having to shoulder the majority of the attacking load.
- Komarno have been more of an all-round effort, but Ganbold Ganbayar has three of their seven goals in the same time frame and he'll keep them a threat in the counter-attack.
