- Team form: Hull City (7th, 70 points from 45 games) have won ten, drawn five and lost seven at home in the Championship 2025/2026.
- Away record: Norwich City (9th, 65 points from 45 games) have won ten, drawn five and lost seven away in the Championship 2025/2026.
- Recent home form: Hull City have failed to win either of their last two home games (2 draws), including a 1-1 against Birmingham City.
Head-to-head history suggests little to separate the two sides
Hull City recorded a 2-0 win five months ago away at Norwich City. Hull City have drawn each of their two most recent home games and will be desperate to bounce back after a 1-1 draw with Birmingham City, while Norwich City come into this game in excellent form having won three, drawn one and lost just one of their last five Championship games.
Both teams are in desperate need of points to pinpoint their final league positions so we could see a tight and tense match with both sides looking to attack.
Jakirovic’s high-intensity pressing against Clement’s measured possession
Jakirovic’s high-intensity approach
Sergej Jakirovic’s Hull City have been a breath of fresh air in the Championship this season, largely because of Jakirovic’s tactical flexibility and his insistence on intensity and vertical transitions. Jakirovic’s men can be incredibly dangerous in transition when they flood forward with numbers and they have caused all sorts of problems for their opponents as a result.
However, Hull’s last five Championship matches have seen them win none, draw three and lose two, so they clearly haven’t been able to maintain the same levels of intensity as they enjoyed in the opening few months of the campaign.
Clement’s measured possession and structure
Philippe Clement has made Norwich City a more structured and organised side since his arrival as head coach in November 2025 and they are a more measured team on the ball. Clement demands that his side keep shape and their players are instructed to be disciplined in their pressing, which doesn’t allow opponents as many opportunities to counterattack as they could against Hull.
Norwich’s full-backs have been overlapping more regularly than they did in the earlier stages of the Championship 2025/2026 and they have been much more controlled in their build-up play.
Norwich can nick this one in an exciting, end-to-end encounter
With Norwich arriving in better form than their hosts and possessing an identical away record, we’re backing the Canaries to eke out a win in this one. Norwich’s superior recent form should see them through in a match where both sides will be keen to avoid defeat, so we’re going for a Norwich win in the draw no bet market.
Both outfits have attacking talent and both have defensive issues, so it should be an exciting, attacking clash with goals at both ends and a potential game-decider.
With both strikers in good form and the match likely to be a back-and-forth encounter, we’re also going for Over 2.5 goals and both teams to score.
- Hull’s talisman this season has been Oli McBurnie who has 15 goals in 36 Championship appearances, two of which have come in his last five outings.
- Norwich have shared the goals around but Mohamed Toure has been their most reliable attacking outlet of late, scoring four of their most recent nine goals in his last five appearances.
