- Nice form: OGC Nice have won one, drawn two and lost two of their last five games in all competitions
- Strasbourg form: Racing Club Strasbourg have won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five in all competitions
- Nice home form: Nice are undefeated at home in Ligue 1 2026/2027 (one win, two draws) and have conceded an average of 0.67 goals per home match
Well matched teams will put on a good game
Two teams with similar records and similar ambitions will come together at Allianz Riviera on Sunday when 14th-placed Nice with five points from five games look to get their Ligue 1 2026/2027 season into gear against eighth-placed Strasbourg, who have collected seven points. The hosts have been a bit inconsistent in the opening few weeks of the new season, winning at home to Lille, drawing with Le Mans and losing at Auxerre.
But the latest result, the 2-1 win over Lille, is more encouraging and they will be confident of seeing off a Strasbourg side that they beat 2-0 away from home in the Coupe de France 2025/2026 last time out.
Le Racing, who sit eighth on the table, also come into this game off a draw, drawing 1-1 with Monaco at home, but then losing 2-1 away to Paris FC. So the momentum is there for them, but it is not a strong one.
Nice have a home advantage
Pantaloni's approach
Olivier Pantaloni has done well with the club since taking over on 1 July 2026 and his 3-4-3 system is built on a solid foundation of structure, pressing triggers, back-to-front builds and quick transitions. He's got enough width, thanks to wing-backs, enough forward power in Elye Wahi (one goal in four Ligue 1 2026/2027 appearances) and enough creativity from Gauthier Hein (one assist in five Ligue 1 2026/2027 games) to make it work, but the team are still a bit too slow.
Strasbourg's threat
Hugo Oliveira has also made his mark on Strasbourg since taking charge on 12 July 2026, bringing his modern, direct and wide playing style to the club. Gessime Yassine (two goals in five Ligue 1 2026/2027 matches) is his sharpest forward, but Les Aiglons will be able to hold him off.
Hosts can edge Strasbourg out
This looks like a close matchup, which is reflected in the moneylines where Nice are narrow favorites at 2.24, just ahead of Strasbourg at 2.85 and the draw at 3.7.
- Strasbourg have won just one of their three Ligue 1 2026/2027 away games, losing twice and conceding eight goals in the process.
- That might be enough to drag them into a dogfight here as Nice have scored an average of 1.00 and conceded 0.67 per home game in Ligue 1 2026/2027.
- Both teams to score looks a good bet at 1.55, but it might be safer to go for Under 2.5 goals at 2.2 in what will be a tight game.
- Nice are unbeaten in their last three at home and have kept things tight at the Allianz Riviera, which is enough to just edge Strasbourg out in the end.
- Le Racing have failed to win their last two away games against Nice and that will be on the minds of the hosts.
