- Team form: Olympiakos Piraeus FC have won three of their last five matches in all competitions (D1, L1) and have conceded an average of 0.75 goals per home game.
- Away form: Jagiellonia Białystok have won three of their last six away matches (D1, L2) and have conceded an average of 1.50 goals on the road.
- Comparison: Jaga have the stronger recent overall record (W6, D1, L3) but Olympiakos' recent home form (W2, D1, L1) suggests they are more likely to win on Wednesday.
Thrylos to edge out a close affair
Olympiakos Piraeus FC are the clear favorites here at 1.34, with Jaga priced at 9.2 and the draw at 4.6. However, the visitors will feel they are getting a great price to avoid defeat on Wednesday and we're taking them to keep it tight enough to ensure a home win under 2.5 goals.
Tactical battle
These are two very different teams and this should be a fascinating clash of styles – Olympiakos want the ball, tempo, territory and will look to press aggressively and recover the ball high up the field, while Jaga will want to control the play, keep compact and be patient in transition.
Olympiakos setup
Imanol Alguacil has made Thrylos into a possession first team with his 4-3-3/4-2-3-1 system and his side are now set up to dominate territory and win the ball back high. They've been most impressive when they've managed to do this but can also be vulnerable if they're caught out in transition.
- Armando Gonzalez is currently the spark in this Olympiakos team and has scored three of their nine goals in the last five, so we're tipping him to find the net in a home win on Wednesday.
- Recent form has been mixed for Alguacil's men – they beat Volos NFC 3-2 in the Cup but then slumped to a 0-1 defeat at home to OFI FC in the Super League last weekend, so we'll be siding with Olympiakos for insurance purposes.
Jagiellonia
Adrian Siemieniec has kept Jaga compact and midfield dominated since taking over in 2023 and they've been very well drilled in the way they build up play and press selectively. Jaga are also in mixed form with three wins and two defeats in their last five and their previous three matches have seen them lose 2-1 at Lech Poznan, beat Slask Wroclaw 2-1 at home and then lose 2-0 at Wisla Krakow.
At 1.34, Olympiakos are obviously the team more likely to edge this one out, but we think Jaga's structure will keep this a lot tighter than the odds suggest.
A home victory with under 2.5 goals is our main tip and we're also going for Both Teams to Score-No at 1.83 and Under 2.5 Goals at 2.25.
