- Morton form: Greenock Morton have won two and lost three of their last five fixtures
Raith Rovers and Morton in top 10 battle
Raith Rovers and Greenock Morton are level on 36 points in the Championship 2025/2026 season but the home side are in fifth with a game in hand of the visitors in eighth. This Saturday’s matchup will have extra edge to it as the two clubs recently swapped managers with Dougie Imrie and Ian Murray taking over at Raith and Morton respectively.
Imrie, who took over at Stark’s Park in November 2025, has brought an attack-minded approach to Raith with his side always trying to play a high-tempo game. His team have won their last two games, beating Ayr United 3-0 and Inverness Caledonian Thistle 4-1 in their previous two outings.
Morton have taken a different approach under Murray, who is more of a defensive coach. His side have kept things tight and tried to get players in behind the opposition when they can get their numbers forward. They beat Arbroath 2-1 at home on their penultimate outing before losing 3-1 away to Dunfermline Athletic last time out.
Imrie’s Raith will be too much for Morton
Prediction and head-to-head
There is enough to suggest that the two teams will neutralise each other for the 180 minutes they play over the next fortnight. Their previous two meetings in the Championship 2025/2026 have ended all square and they were 0-0 when they last met at Morton's ground seven weeks ago. Morton will be satisfied to nick the win if they can and will surely put bodies behind the ball to frustrate the hosts.
Key players and betting angles
Raith will be more positive and likely to get the better of Morton eventually, as the hosts have done in three of their last four home games.
- Imrie has a real dangerman in striker Innes Cameron, who has scored five of Raith’s last 10 goals, while Morton’s main goal threat is Eamonn Brophy, who has netted six times in 21 appearances in the Championship 2025/2026.
- A 2-1 Raith win seems a likely outcome of Saturday’s game as the home sides are averaging 1.75 goals per home game in 2025-26 compared to Morton’s 1.12 away.
- But both teams will score as Raith’s fast break and wide overloads will make Morton’s defensive block uncomfortable while the visitors will always be a threat to counter-attack whenever Raith’s 4-2-3-1 or 4-1-3-2 becomes over-extended.
- Raith, who are the more in-form side with three wins in their last five matches, will win at 1.88 while Over 2.5 goals is also a good bet at 2.15.
- Both teams to score will also come in at 1.91 and there is a good chance both selections will land on Saturday.
