- League position: Real Sociedad sit 7th in LaLiga 2025-2026 with 38 points from 29 games, they have won 7, drawn 3 and lost 4 of 14 home games this season.
- Relegation battle: Levante are in 19th place, battling relegation after collecting just 26 points in 29 games.
- Last meeting: The last meeting between these two sides in LaLiga 2025/2026 finished 1-1 at Levante’s home ground three months ago.
La Liga is no holiday for Levante
Levante, who were expected to compete in a mid-table position in Spain’s top flight this season, have found themselves in the midst of a relegation battle in 2025/2026.
Luis Castro took over the reins at Levante in December 2025, and his pragmatic, compact style has seen the Valencia-based club stabilise somewhat. The club have won two, drawn two and lost one of their last five games, including a 4-2 home win over Real Oviedo last weekend, however, their away form is poor.
The Granotas have not won any of their last two away games, recording a draw and a defeat.
Real Sociedad are on the hunt
Tactics and style:
Pellegrino Matarazzo is an intelligent tactician who has kept the identity of Real Sociedad’s academy-first, possession-based team that he inherited when he took over in December 2025. Matarazzo’s team play with intensity, they press high up the field, they are a team that likes to dominate their games through midfield overloads and they have a number of players that can unlock the game when in possession.
Key players:
- Take Kubo is a perfect example of the type of player Real Sociedad have - he is a fantastic player on his day and a regular creator of chances for his team.
- In Mikel Oyarzabal, who has 12 goals in 26 games in LaLiga 2025-2026, Sociedad have an equally talented player to complement the playmaker.
- Oyarzabal has three goals in his last five matches and will be a major threat this weekend.
Expect goals in a tense contest
Real Sociedad’s home record this season is solid, with seven wins, three draws and four defeats in 14 matches. They have won their last two matches in a row on home ground, however, they have also conceded an average of 1.50 goals per game at home in 2025/2026, conceding 21 goals at home in the league.
Levante have conceded 22 goals in 14 away games in this LaLiga campaign and are likely to be exposed at the back once more this weekend. Carlos Espi, with seven goals in 16 appearances, is their top goal scorer, however, he has six goals in his last five appearances.
Mohamed Bouldini has the talent to create moments of magic, particularly on the counter-attack, and he could play a key role in this match, which is set to be a close and tense clash between two teams with very different playing styles.
Real Sociedad have the talent to succeed
With Real Sociedad in much better form than Levante, home advantage and superior attacking quality, the odds are in their favour and I am backing the Basque side to win on Saturday. However, this game should not be a walkover and Levante are sure to be hungry for points to pull themselves away from the relegation zone.
Real Sociedad are on the charge for Europe, Levante need points and both teams have shown defensive vulnerabilities this campaign, so I am expecting goals at both ends and an entertaining LaLiga matchup.
Real Sociedad to win and Both Teams to Score - Yes is the main bet, with odds of 1.56, 1.75 and 1.7 representing good value for the win, the BTTS bet and Over 2.5 goals respectively.
