- Heerenveen form: Heerenveen have won four and lost only one of their last five matches, currently on a four-game winning streak
- Feyenoord form: Feyenoord have drawn two of their last two Eredivisie matches
- Head-to-head: Feyenoord have not won either of their last two away games against Heerenveen
Back Feyenoord to make the most of the chances
Feyenoord Rotterdam, 25 points from 11 games, lead SC Heerenveen, 18 points from 11, by seven points in the Eredivisie 2026/2027 after 11 games and there's a lot to like about the leaders chances in this contest. But, the hosts should not be underestimated and could make it very interesting for Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side on Sunday.
The Rotterdam club have drawn their last two Eredivisie matches – 1-1 at PSV and 1-1 at home to Fortuna Sittard, and seem to be grinding games rather than blowing teams away at the moment. Admittedly, Feyenoord have scored a staggering 21 goals in only six away games in the 2026/2027 Eredivisie, so they can blow the net out on Sunday, but they have failed to win two of their last encounters against De Superfriezen.
They could win this game quite comfortably if they hit their stride, but De club van het volk are prone to getting frustrated if it's not going their way, so it's probably wiser to back over 2.5 goals at 1.35 here than the clear favorites on Feyenoord at 1.67.
Game of styles makes the draw look better than the odds
Heerenveen form:
The draw is available at 4.3 in this spot and that is a bit of a surprise when you consider Heerenveen have won four of their last games and Feyenoord have been in a bit of a rut. But Heerenveen are very competitive at home this season with three wins, one draw and two defeats from their first six Eredivisie home games.
Tactical matchup:
That's a good foundation to build on and Heerenveen will try to control the pace and make this a game of structured attacks and organisation against Feyenoord's pace and power. Veldman's 4-3-3 is flexible and youthful with a fluid passing style and pressing style that can be effective against any team in Holland.
Feyenoord, however, have a different style that is built on width, pressing and transitions, so the clash of styles could be a good watch. Jacob Trenskow has been Heerenveen's sharpest edge in the Eredivisie this season with three goals in seven games and four goals in their last five.
No reason to fear the Frisians
Feyenoord, on the other hand, have Anis Hadj Moussa as their main finisher in the final third with five goals in six matches to top their scoring charts.
- Their recent form has been mixed, with two draws in their last two league games, so we'll take the visitors to win on the day.
- However, the head-to-head record is perfectly balanced at two wins apiece with one draw in the last five and Heerenveen have only conceded five goals in their six home Eredivisie games, so it's unlikely to be a blowout.
- Hence, over 2.5 goals is the safest and most profitable bet in this game that should see Feyenoord's firepower get the better of a strong Frisian side.
