- Team form: Chicago have won one and lost eight of their nine away games in the NWSL 2026.
- Away stats: The visitors have scored just 0.22 goals per away match and conceded 2.11 goals per away match in the league this season.
- Seattle form: Seattle Reign have won three and lost two of their last five matches, and come into the game seeking a third consecutive win.
Seattle should have too much
Seattle Reign FC enter Saturday's game in better form than visitors Chicago Red Stars, having won three and lost only two of their last five games. They have won back-to-back games ahead of this and they should have too much for a Red Stars side.
However, Seattle are not without fault, and both teams have plenty of work to do to push their way up the table this season. Reign are 10th in the NWSL 2026 standings with 23 points from 16 games, while Red Stars are 16th with just 13 points from 18 matches. The last two meetings between the sides have finished level, and the most recent meeting between these two in the NWSL 2025 ended 3-3 at this ground.
This should be a cagey game
Seattle's approach is to control the ball, and when they can't do that, they can make it tough to play through their compact three-rear formation. Laura Harvey's side aren't particularly flashy, but they have been efficient at home, scoring seven goals in the NWSL 2026 and averaging exactly one goal per game at home.
Madison Mercado is Reign's biggest threat and she has scored three goals in her last five appearances, but they don't need to rely on any one player to get a goal and have scored 10 in their last five.
Sjoegren’s side are hard to trust
Martin Sjoegren has overseen their approach since January, but they have looked more reactive than ruthless under his watch.
The Draw is 4.5, and with the last two head-to-head meetings finishing level, I'm leaning towards the stalemate here.
This looks set up to be a chess match between the two, so I'm supporting Under 2.5 goals at 2.25 and Both Sides to Score No at 1.95.
- Chicago are an interesting team, capable of playing in a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-3-3 system which allows them to press opponents and hit teams on the break if they can nick the ball back quickly.
- Their recent results have seen them lose 2-1 away to Racing Louisville and draw 0-0 at home to Bay FC.
- They've been in poor form throughout, and their away record is particularly poor with eight defeats from nine attempts this term.
- With Seattle on a two-game winning run and Chicago having lost four of their last five, the odds don't look right here.
- Seattle are the obvious favourite for this game at 1.42, and while I'm with them to win, Chicago are a massive 6.13 to claim a result.
- Seattle will try and slow the game down and squeeze Chicago wide, while the visitors will look to cause problems when they can win the ball and try to hit Reign on the counter attack.
