- New York City FC are 2.4 to win, ahead of New England Revolution at 2.7 and the draw at 3.55.
- Carles Gil is New England's leading scorer with 7 MLS 2026 goals, but Nicolas Fernandez has 13 for New York City FC.
- New York City FC have the better head-to-head record, winning two of the last three meetings, including two of their last three visits to New England.
Punchier NYCFC could have the edge
New England Revolution are seventh in MLS 2026 with 30 points from 19 games and New York City FC sit one below them in 14th place on 26 points from 18 matches. The Revs certainly have the cleaner record and worse recent form of this pair coming into Sunday's game.
But the visitors travel to Gillette Stadium with a better overall record against the Revs and a slight favourite 2.4 quote which is a bit on the generous side when compared to New England's 2.7 and the 3.55 offered on the draw.
Punters might want to be on the away side, but it's worth noting that both teams to score at 1.57 also fits here and Over 2.5 goals at 1.7 looks good given what each side has to offer in the final third.
Transition key for both clubs
Marko Mitrovic has done a steady job since taking over at the helm of New England Revolution on 7 November 2025, moulding his charges into a 4-4-2 diamond that can compress the centre of the pitch, force play wide and hit hard on the counter attack.
Carles Gil is the spark at the top of the diamond, New England's most reliable finisher with seven MLS 2026 goals, but this game will be all about transitions with New York City FC.
Pascal Jansen took over the Boys in Blue on 6 January 2025 and his high-pressing shape looks to win the ball high and overload the inside channels. That should, in theory, make for a cagey chess game and one where the midfield play is vital.
NYCFC have a better record away
New England Revolution have lost form with one win, two draws and two defeats in their last five games, falling 0-2 at home to Houston Dynamo FC and then 1-2 as visitors to Toronto FC in the last week. New York City FC have won two, drawn one and lost two in their last five matches across all competitions - a 2-0 win over Santos Laguna in the Leagues Cup followed by two defeats against Cruz Azul and Necaxa in CONCACAF Leagues Cup 2026/2027.
Their better form away from home is what tips our fancy for the visitors here, although New England's home record and the head-to-head suggest it will be a tight affair.
NYCFC have a superior away record in MLS 2026 (W3, D2, L3) and have conceded just nine goals, an average of 1.12 per game, which suggests they can set up a good base for success on the road on Sunday.
