- Match odds: Atalanta Bergamo are the 1.44 favorites for Thursday's UEFA Conference League – League Stage 2026-2027 clash with Pafos FC at New Balance Arena, Italy.
- Pafos form: Pafos have won 5 of their last 10 matches across all competitions (D3, L2).
- Atalanta home form: Atalanta have won 3 of their last 5 home matches across all competitions (D1, L1).
La Dea have changed their style
Tactical shift:
Maurizio Sarri has installed a very different identity to Atalanta Bergamo since taking charge on 15 June 2026. La Dea are now building attacks from the back with a back four and short passing triangles, and trying to control the game in a possession-based approach, rather than trying to blow teams away in the transition phases. On Thursday, their new approach should hold up against Pafos FC's compact and flexible system.
Pafos approach and recent form:
Pafos FC can sit deep, press selectively and then burst forward on the counter attack when a gap opens up.
Sarri's men are also on a three-match losing streak after losing their two Serie A 2026/2027 fixtures against Cagliari (1-2) and Juventus FC (2-0) and their home record of three wins, one draw and one loss in the last five, doesn't quite do justice to their recent downturn.
- They should make this a tricky game for Atalanta and, given the odds, probably good enough to stay in it for a while.
- Ricardo Sa Pinto's side, who have been under his command since 29 April 2026, look to be a well-drilled unit and more than capable of keeping Atalanta at arm's length.
- Pafos have won five of their last ten across all competitions, drawing three and losing two, so they come into the clash in better form than Atalanta, who have won only five of their past ten in all contests (D1, L4).
Back a Pafos double result bet
Selection and odds:
Atalanta will get through this clash, but there is enough to suggest that Pafos can get a result. A win for the Cypriot side at 6.5 is extremely long and that's our selection here, although there is also some value in the draw at 4.5.
Goals market:
The odds on goals in this matchup are also tempting. Atalanta have been scoring plenty but finding the back of the net has been a bit blunter than usual lately and they have only scored five times in their last five home games in all comps. Scamacca has been their main source of goals, scoring two of their four strikes in the past five matches, but we're taking Over 2.5 goals here at 1.6 alongside Both Teams to Score at 1.73.
Pafos away record:
The Pafos away record – three wins in their last three away matches and only two goals conceded in their five road trips in all-competitions – is a further reason to back the visitors to be involved and to give an honest account of themselves in this one.
