- Team odds: Norwich are the slight favorites at 1.98, but Charlton are a solid 3.5 and the draw at 3.6 is the top pick.
- Head-to-head: Norwich have won both of the last two meetings and the last meeting was a 1-0 away win.
- Home form: Charlton are unbeaten on home turf in the Championship 2026/2027, winning two and drawing three of their five.
Canaries have the edge, but this is no ‘lock’
Recent form:
Norwich City are the favorites to take all three points away to The Valley on Saturday, but there is plenty of evidence to suggest that this won't be a straightforward away win.
The Canaries have been in woeful form, losing five straight games and their last three results were a 2-1 loss to Swansea City, a 1-0 loss to Southampton and a 1-0 loss to Portsmouth.
Managerial impact:
But there are plenty of positive signs for Norwich as they take on Charlton on Saturday. Philippe Clement took over on 18 November 2025 and has pushed a more coherent, assertive tactical setup while his side are capable of producing moments of quality.
Addicks have been solid at home
Norwich's Mohamed Toure has been a star, the Guinea international has scored five Championship 2026/2027 goals in seven appearances, but there is an argument to be made that the Canaries are better with him in the hole rather than up top.
He is their main threat, Charlton have Tyreece Campbell to do something similar as the Addicks are one of the few Championship 2026/2027 sides to have a consistent goalscorer in this division, the ex-Birmingham man having notched four in eight appearances.
Nathan Jones has done a good job since taking over at Charlton on 4 February 2024, creating a team that is organised and built to succeed in specific scenarios. They are 17th in the Championship 2026/2027 with 14 points from 11 games, while Norwich are four rungs lower with nine points from the same amount of games.
Half-spaces and wide channels will be key
Norwich are the favourites, but they have beaten Charlton in their last meeting and have conceded an average of 2.20 goals on the road, so this isn't a done deal.
Charlton's 4-2-3-1 is measured and their wide attackers are not quite as advanced as Norwich's pressing game, which is more aggressive through the middle. But the Addicks are good at playing through the half-spaces and I'm expecting the half-spaces and the wide channels to be the difference here. Over 2.5 at 1.75 and Both Teams to Score Yes at 1.65 also look excellent bets given that Norwich need to find a way to win and Charlton have only scored four times at home in the Championship 2026/2027.
- Charlton have been in mixed form in their last five (W0, D3, L2), but haven't been beaten in five at The Valley.
- Norwich have won once and lost four in five away, conceding 11 goals.
- Their leaky away defense will be a concern for the visitors, who have conceded an average of 2.20 goals per-game on the road in the Championship 2026/2027.
