Barrow boss Adam Murray is an organised coach who sets his sides up to play with the ball and will look to get his team to press high up the pitch to win it back in their half of the field. His 2026-27 challenge is to turn the pain of relegation from League Two in 2025/26 into a quick reset with Barrow looking to bounce back at the first attempt.

Barrow should have the ball more than Hartlepool and will surely look to stretch the play with a fluid front line and a diamond or 4-2-3-1 shape, which suits them when they can press high up the field. With Barrow pressing high and Hartlepool looking to disrupt the game, this could be a tight game and it is perhaps best to stick with the odds-on team for this early kick-off – although the odds are perhaps a little off. The Draw at 3.34 is the best bet on the game result market and it is likely to be a score draw, but a 2-1 home win makes the most appeal if Clark's new boys click in time to take the three points.
The BTTS & Over 2.5 goals markets are definitely on here, with BTTS coming in at 1.62 and Over 2.5 at 1.76.
The value of the BTTS selection is slightly negated by the fact that the away side have been conceding plenty of goals in recent games, but both teams have scored in two of the last three meetings between these sides – which Hartlepool won 3-1 at Barrow in League Two on 29 April 2023 and which the Bluebirds won by the same scoreline at home on 19 November 2022. Another League Two meeting finished 3-1 to Hartlepool on 8 February 2022, but the history of this fixture in the fourth tier shows that Barrow have more than enough quality to disrupt the home side.
