- Recent form: Houston Dash have taken one point from their last two games (L1, D1), a 2-1 away defeat to Washington Spirit and a 2-2 away draw against Denver Summit FC.
- Current run: Bay FC have won their last two matches and look the more likely winner on current form (W2, D1, L2 from their last five).
- Head-to-head: Bay FC have taken a win from the last two meetings (W1, D1), while the Dash have failed to win either of their previous two home games against the California club.
Bay’s bite can catch a blunted Dash in a close one
Bay FC will have slightly more bite than their Houston hosts this Saturday, and that's why the West Coast side are the slight favorites here at 2.15, compared to 2.98 for the Dash and 3.32 for the draw.
However, the odds are about right given that these teams are in similar positions in the league table, with Houston Dash currently 14th on 15 points from 14 matches and Bay FC 11th on 18 from the same number of games.
That's because Bay have been in slightly better form than the Dash recently, with the Dash winning one, drawing two and losing two of their last five matches, while Bay have won two, drawn one and lost two of theirs.
Houston have a little more quality, but Bay are a unit
Tactical styles:
This matchup will be about style against style as Fabrice Gautrat's flexible 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 system, which is designed to control the ball, exploit half-spaces and overload the wings, comes up against Emma Coates' more compact 4-2-3-1 that is built around strong defensive structure and a transition threat.
Form and players:
Houston have the individual quality in this matchup with Kat Rader, who has three of the team's seven goals in the last five games, but Bay are the unit and look more likely to win this Saturday.
Their back-to-back wins prior to this game have been impressive, following up a 2-0 victory away at Racing Louisville with a 3-0 home win over North Carolina Courage. Houston have some players capable of causing a problem here, but they have let too many goals in at home already.
Opposing odds can be exploited in this one
Coates' compact 4-2-3-1 structure should hold Houston up for long periods of the game and, while the Dash will patiently probe for a breakthrough, it will be interesting to see if they can remain disciplined enough to keep the game tight when Bay spring forward.
- The Dash have conceded 11 goals at home in 2026, an average of 1.57 per match, and that could well cost them here in a game where the odds on goals are a little shorter than we would like.
- Over 2.5 goals is 1.83 and Both Teams To Score: Yes is 1.67, which still seem a tad on the low side for a game that should see both teams get forward in waves.
- Karlie Lema has been the hottest finisher for Bay this season, bagging four of their eight goals in the last five, and will likely get plenty of chances to add to that here.
