- Home form: Motherwell have won ten of their 15 home games in the Premiership 2025-2026 (D4, L1)
- Away form: Hibernian FC have won five, drawn five and lost five of their 15 away league matches
- Head-to-head: Motherwell have won one and drawn one of their last two against Hibernian FC, with a 1-1 draw at Easter Road
Motherwell can maintain their home record
Motherwell have won 10, drawn four and lost only once at Fir Park in the Scottish Premiership 2025-2026 to date and will take all the beating from Hibernian FC on Saturday in a clash between two European-chasing teams.
The Steelmen, who sit fourth in the standings with 53 points from 30 games, bounced back from a losing streak with a 2-0 win at home to Dundee United FC last weekend. They then suffered consecutive away defeats to Dundee FC and Celtic FC, but will be confident of getting back on track against the Hibs, who are fifth with 47 points from the same number of games.
Jens Berthel Askou’s side play a possession-first game and like to build up from the back in a progressive manner. They are particularly strong at creating overloads in midfield and creating space to get the ball wide while their opponents press.
Home record is strong
Key players
- Callum Slattery has been a key component in their recent results with four assists in the last five games while Elijah Just has chipped in with three goals to bolster the team.
- But the major threat comes from top scorer Tawanda Maswanhise, who has 16 goals in 27 Premiership games this term and leads the line with a real menace.
Hibernian tactics
Hibs, under David Gray, like to play a back-three with wing-backs and focus on being compact when out of possession, pressing the ball and playing off the break. Their last two games have been draws - a 3-3 thriller at the Dens Park against Dundee FC and a goalless draw with Livingston.
Kieron Bowie has been the most lethal striker for Hibs this season with nine goals in 22 appearances and Gray has had some success in making his side hard to beat away from home of late.
Both teams won’t score
His tweaks have produced some impressive results on the road and Hibernian FC have scored 21 goals in 15 away league games this season. But Motherwell have only conceded 6 in the same 15 home fixtures, so this could be a tough game for Hibs to break the team down.
The visitors have only lost one of their last five Premiership games, drawing two, but they could fall to defeat when they take on a Motherwell side that are hard to break down at Fir Park. Back the home team to pick up another home win at 1.84 with both teams not to score coming in at 2.05.
