- Team form: Watford will be looking to double up after beating Norwich 1-0 away just 9 months ago.

- Away form: Watford have not yet won on the road after 5 attempts (D1, L4), conceding 10 goals (2.00).
Canaries vs Hornets at the bottom
Norwich City and Watford arrive here in 18th and 21st place respectively with 12 points from 12 games and 11 points from 11. It's a battle of the basement dwellers in the Championship 2026-2027 campaign on Saturday.
Watford's 1-0 away win over Norwich was in their previous meeting. The Hornets are hoping to double up here at Carrow Road, where Norwich have won just 2 of their 6 Championship games so far (W2, L4).
Norwich have suffered 4 defeats from their last 5 matches but the Canaries' morale could be boosted here after a 1-3 away victory over Charlton Athletic earlier today. Watford are also in mixed-to-poor form with 1 win and 4 defeats from their last 5. The Hornets were hammered 0-4 by Burnley at the weekend, losing 1-5 to Cardiff City away prior to that before recording a solid 2-0 home win over Charlton.
A tale of two tactical approaches
Norwich's approach
Philippe Clement has been in charge of Norwich since 18 November 2025, which isn't a particularly long period to stamp his tactical identity onto the team. His Canaries have been compact, direct and direct-minded, with the team compact in the central third, quick to counter-press when the ball is lost and to hit the second lines on the counter-attack.
Watford's approach
Watford are much more patient in their approach under Alessio Dionisi, who has been in place since 15 June 2026. The former Serie A coach prefers to build possession from the back in phases, using the double pivot to get men forward in numbers and his system also looks good on paper.
There's a real chess match feel about this encounter with the Canaries being more explosive and the Hornets more methodical. Norwich should edge this at home, but the last two head-to-head clashes were won by Watford (W2) and the away side will have a chance to pull an upset.
Norwich have the edge at the top
Toure has been looking particularly sharp in the final third of late and the Canaries will be desperate for him to keep it going.
Watford haven't found a rhythm on their travels and are currently without a win in 5 away matches. They have also conceded ten goals at an average of 2.00 away from home, so a Norwich win to nil looks a savvy alternative bet if Clement's men can control the middle and capitalise on the porous Hornets defence.
- Mohamed Toure will be Norwich's biggest threat here and is currently leading the club scoring charts with 5 goals in 7 Championship matches.
- Amin Nabizada is Watford's biggest threat with 3 goals in 8 Championship appearances so far, but is unlikely to cause as many problems as Toure.
- The Canaries have the best chance of scoring goals here, having notched ten in six at Carrow Road this season at an average of 1.67 per-game.
