- Team odds: Columbus are the slight favorites at 1.9 ahead of New England Revolution at 3.55 and the draw at 3.8.
- Standings: New England have 33 points from 20 MLS 2026 games compared to Columbus' 20 from 21.
New England can make a mark in tight matchup
New England Revolution travel to ScottsMiracle-Gro Field on Saturday to take on a Columbus Crew that have fallen on hard times.
The Revs responded to a disappointing 2-1 away defeat to Toronto FC last week by beating DC United 3-0 away from home, so they can certainly get back on the winning track in Ohio.
The Crew are in a bit of a rut, losing their last three matches and slipping to 2-0-3 in their last five in all competitions.
They have the edge in this matchup historically, having won three of the past five, but the Revs took the most recent edition 2-1 at home.
Both of Columbus' results in the last seven days have been bad, losing 1-2 at home to CF Montreal and 3-2 away to Nashville SC, so the pressure is building quickly on the hosts.
Columbus are in a scoring slump
Tactical setups
Laurent Courtois has returned to a wingback-heavy 5-2-3/3-4-3 formation that looks to overload the flanks and re-press quickly when they lose the ball.
It will be a different challenge for New England Revolution, whose boss Marko Mitrovic has a more attack-first, possession-based approach that presses high and releases the ball fast when they get it back.
Recent form and odds
New England have had a mixed but enjoyable couple of months in all competitions, winning two, drawing one and losing two of their last five.
Columbus are the slight favorites to win this clash at 1.9, but New England are in the better MLS 2026 position so it makes more sense to get them at 3.55 or for the draw at 3.8.
New England have the sharpness for an away goal
The matchup should be a tight contest, so we will look for an angle other than the straight bet.
Over 2.5 goals at 1.57 looks the cleaner play, while both teams to score at 1.5 covers both sides nicely as both are set up to attack and have a decent goal threat.
Columbus Crew have scored 13 goals in 10 home games in MLS 2026 for a 1.30 per-game average but New England Revolution have conceded 15 goals in nine away games, at 1.67 per game on average.
They are capable of making a mark in this game, so we will take New England Revolution or draw in 90 minutes and under 2.5 goals as our main selection, with a 1-1 correct score to complete our selections.
- Diego Rossi is Columbus' top scorer with six MLS 2026 goals in 15 appearances, while Alhassan Yusuf has three goals in his last five appearances and Jack Harrison has added three assists in that same spell.
- Carles Gil is New England's talisman with seven goals in 20 MLS 2026 games, but Yusuf has looked sharp of late for the visitors.
