- Standings: Necaxa are 17th in Liga MX 2026/2027 with nine points from 12 games, while FC Juarez are 18th on four points from 12.
- Necaxa form: Necaxa are winless in their last five (D1, L4) and winless in their last three at home (D0, L3).
- Juarez form: FC Juarez are also winless in their last 3 road games (D0, L3) and yet to win away in Liga MX 2026/2027 (W0, L6).
Necaxa’s form is worse
These two clubs are near the foot of the table, and it is hard to make a strong case for either side based on their recent form, but the Rayos do have a better chance on Saturday based on their head-to-head record with the Bravos. Necaxa beat FC Juarez 2-1 away in Liga MX 2025/2026 eight months ago and are now unbeaten in their last 3 H2H meetings (W1, D2).
Both teams have some new coaches now, but they still seem to be pretty much the same sides, which should give Necaxa the mental edge for this clash at Estadio Victoria. Juan Reynoso took charge on 14 September 2026 and should bring a bit more structure and game control to Necaxa than the previous boss, even if his work is still a work in progress.
His side have nosedived at home in Liga MX 2026/2027 where they are 2-0-5 and have conceded 14 goals, so Juarez will see some gaps to get at in this contest.
Bravos are blunt on their travels
Styles and approach
This could be a clash of styles with Reynoso's Necaxa preferring to play a more high-tempo, vertical game where they press high and look to get into their 3-4-3/4-2-3-1 formation quickly on the transition. Pedro Caixinha's FC Juarez are much more about staying compact and trying to snatch at the break.
Formation and tactics
FC Juarez have been in a 5-3-2 shape recently, but they will sit in a 5 at the back in the more serious games and try to stay tight in a low block, looking to pounce on the counter. That should make for an interesting chess match in the midfield, but the pressure Necaxa will put on Juarez at home should give them the edge in this one.
Necaxa can nick it in an end-to-end game
Necaxa look the likelier winners here, but both teams are in poor form, so this is a close game to call in the betting markets where the odds heavily favor the Rayos at 1.84, Juarez are 3.85 and the draw is 3.75.
- An Over 2.5 goals play at 1.65 looks better value given the nature of both clubs and the likelihood that this will be an end-to-end contest.
- Julian Carranza is Necaxa's most dangerous player with six goals in nine Liga MX 2026/2027 appearances, but he has scored three of their six goals in the last five.
- Oscar Estupinan leads the way for Juarez with six in 10 in the current campaign and has been involved in four of their five goals, so everything goes through him.
