- Queens Park Rangers are unbeaten in their last five across all competitions (W4, D1).
- Millwall have won just one of their last five in all competitions (W1, D3, L1).
- QPR have scored an average of 1.3 goals per-game at home in five H2H clashes with Millwall, who have averaged 1.0 per-game in away games.
Lions are the favourites but The Rs are in form
Millwall have to be a slight favorite in the bookies odds at 59/50 for Saturday's EFL Cup 2026-2027 clash with Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road but the R's can be backed at 21/10 and the draw at 5/2. The away side are certainly a solid unit and it is tough to say why they are not shorter in the betting, but QPR have a little bit of momentum to them at the moment, so I'll take them in the draw no bet option for this one.
Julien Stephan has got The Rs playing with structure, compactness, but also capable of sharp vertical bursts. The recent winning run has shown that his ideas are finally sinking in and QPR have won four consecutive games in all competitions, including a 0-7 thrashing of Bromley away from home, followed by home victories over Wycombe Wanderers and AC Fiorentina.
Millwall have been on a downward slope
Alex Neil has Millwall set up in a direct 4-2-3-1 which becomes a 4-1-4-1 when out of possession. The Lions are relentless in their pressing game and always look to play on the break at pace down the flanks, where their attacking players can really shine. The visitors have been in patchy form across all competitions (W3, D3, L4) and have lost momentum after their latest two games, a 1-0 away defeat to Stevenage Borough and a 1-1 draw against Bromley.
The last two meetings have both gone the way of Millwall but The Lions won this fixture 2-0 at home in Championship 2025/2026 in a game played just three months ago. The R's look the momentum side but Millwall's edge in the H2H record makes this anything but a straightforward fixture.
Lions look more likely to win the turnover battle
The home side have two wins, a draw and two defeats at Loftus Road in all competitions, while Millwall have won two, drawn three and lost three of their eight away games, which suggests vulnerability. Neil's press is definitely the more relentless and his team are more likely to benefit from a turnover while QPR like to build up their attacks and then put the opposition under pressure with a bit of counter-pressure.
I think this will be a close battle that could go either way, but QPR will be looking to stop the good run Millwall have had in this fixture, so it should be a battle that they will push for. Under 2.5 goals at 17/20 fits a tight, tactical affair, while Both Teams To Score at 3/4 points to the fact that this should be a competitive affair.
